Description
The Ritoša family winery was founded in 2005 by Vili Ritoša, an entrepreneur from Poreč, continuing the rich winemaking tradition of his ancestors. The vineyards are located in the village of Radmani, just outside Poreč, where 3.5 hectares of vines thrive on deep Istrian red soil. Thanks to an exceptional micro-location, western exposure and the constant interplay of maritime and continental winds, the vines enjoy ideal conditions for healthy growth and optimal grape ripening. A modern winery with an inviting tasting room stands alongside the vineyards.
From the very beginning, Vili was joined by his youngest daughter, Ana, who grew up alongside the winery. After studying winemaking in Poreč, she took over its management in 2017, while her father continues to provide invaluable support and guidance. The family cultivates five grape varieties, led by Malvazija istarska, while Teran and Muscat Rose also achieve outstanding results. Today, the winery offers seven wine labels that reflect the distinctive character of the Istrian terroir and the family's unwavering commitment to quality.
No herbicides are used in the vineyards, as the family embraces a traditional, sustainable approach to viticulture with a strong focus on preserving nature and expressing the authenticity of the local terroir. In addition to direct sales at the winery, their wines are also available at a small wine shop beside the family home near the centre of Poreč, where visitors can taste and purchase their products. Annual production amounts to approximately 20,000 bottles.
