Promotion of Istrian chefs and restaurants into the international association Jeunes Restaurateurs d

On 10 May 2010 starting at 13.00 in the restaurant of the San Rocco Hotel in Brtonigla a promotion ceremony is going to be held on the occasion of including four Istrian chefs and restaurants into this prestigious international association gathering the best young chefs from all over Europe. The honour of representing Istria in this association belongs to Teo Frenetich from the San Rocco restaurant from Brtonigla, Matteo Beletic from the Damir&Ornella restaurant and  Marin Rendić from the Pepenero restaurant (both from Novigrad) and Danijel Ðekić from the Monte restaurant (Rovinj). The JRE representatives will award them with special personalized aprons with their names as well as official labels for their restaurants.

The promotion ceremony as well as the ensuing lunch will be attended by Mr. Ramon Diaz, the recently appointed new JRE president and General Secretary to the association Mr. Hans Van Manen. Mr. Emanuele Scarello and Mr. Tomaž Kavčić, association's commissioners for Italy and Slovenia, will also be attending the event. The said gentlemen have greatly contributed to the inclusion of the Istrian chefs, the only ones in Croatia, into the JRE association considered by many to be the step before entering the famous Michelin guide.

At the luncheon to be held within the promotion, each of the chefs included will prepare a course and in this way present themselves to the honourable guests.
