On Wednesday, 8th June 2011, in the Istrian Assembly Hall in Poreč 33 IQ labels of Istrian quality were awarded to the Istrian Malvasia wines. County President Ivan Jakovčić congratulated all the winemakers for their achievements, while Denis Ivošević, Director of the Istrian Tourist Board, pointed out that the winemakers from Istria have become more and more present in the world wine guides.

Namely, the renowned Touring Editore for the first time included 19 Istrian winemakers in its Vinibuoni d'Italia 2011 edition which puts Istria on the front page. The edition was published in 20.000 copies and it represents one of the three most significant wine guides in Italy. Within the program a Michelin guide (Itinerari tra i vigneti) was presented containing a section about 14 Istrian winemakers, printed in 5.000 copies. The inclusion of the Istrian winemakers in these famous, specialized wine guides represents a tremendous achievement not just for the winemakers but for the whole Istria which has positioned itself as a gourmet and lifestyle destination.
