CapyCON 2026 and the Croatian HEMA Championship

On 3 and 4 October, Poreč will host CapyCON, a convention dedicated to quality leisure time, bringing together numerous associations, exhibitors, performers and visitors from Croatia, Slovenia and Italy at Finida Primary School. The event will also feature the Croatian HEMA Championship (Historical European Martial Arts). HEMA encompasses historical European martial arts based on authentic historical techniques and the use of European historical weapons. Around 40 competitors from clubs in Rijeka, Zagreb, Slavonski Brod and other Croatian cities will compete in two disciplines. This year's CapyCON will feature around 60 programme activities and 45 exhibitors and performers, including numerous local associations, institutions and commercial exhibitors. Following approximately 1,000 participants in 2025, around 2,000 visitors and participants are expected this year. In addition to the HEMA Championship, the programme includes international tabletop gaming tournaments, talks, presentations, workshops and a variety of entertainment, including an evening fire show and DJ programme. One of the highlights will be the free “Robin Hood Tournament” on Saturday at 5:00 pm, where visitors will have the opportunity to compete in several historical disciplines for a valuable prize. Saturday's programme will continue with a quiz in the event tent in front of the school.
CapyCON will take place on Saturday, 3 October, from 10:00 am to midnight, and on Sunday, 4 October, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The event is organised in a fair-style format, and admission and most programme activities are free of charge.
