The best Istrian olive growers

Sapparis

EXCELLENT

Umag-Umago

Another brilliant performance for the farm Čeko, which was created about twenty-five years ago - it was founded in 2000 - in Umag, one of the most charming seaside resorts in Istria. Today Filip Čeko runs an estate stretching over almost 8 hectares of specialized olive grove with 2,079 trees. In the last harvest 120 quintals of olives were produced, which allowed to yield 15 hectolitres of extra virgin olive oil.

We recommend the very good Extra Virgin selection Sapparis - Črnica, which is a beautiful intense limpid golden yellow colour with delicate green hues. Its aroma is ample and rotund, rich in vegetal hints of artichoke, country lettuce and chicory, together with fragrant notes of mint and rosemary. Its taste is elegant and complex, with a spicy flavour of black pepper, cinnamon and a strong final note of almond. Bitterness is definite and pungency is distinct and harmonic.
