Ascus - a bubble-shaped cavity that contains spores
Epigean Fungus - an above-ground fungus
Hypha filament - a fungal cell
Hypogean Fungus - an underground fungus
Gleba - the internal, fleshy, and firm part of the fruiting body
Mycelium - a network of hyphae that forms the vegetative part of a fungus
Mychorriza - a mass formed by the fusion of hyphae and plant roots
Peridium - the outer layer of the fruiting body that protects it from bacteria and other fungi
Radical Apex - root tips
Symbiosis - a mutually beneficial relationship between two organisms of different species
Spore - an asexual reproductive cell of lower plants, from which a new organism develops
Sporocarp - the fruiting body of a fungus, or the truffle in the true sense of the word
