From 10 to 12 February 2026, Ljubljana hosted Conventa Meet, a leading regional MICE trade show where the Croatian National Tourist Board once again successfully showcased Croatia’s MICE offer. The Istria Tourist Board was joined by leading Croatian hoteliers and tourism companies at the event. Bringing together around 150 buyers and 150 exhibitors from across the globe, Conventa reaffirmed its status as one of the most important gatherings of MICE industry professionals in Central and Southeast Europe.

Istria stood out in particular at the official Meeting Star Awards ceremony, where numerous Croatian stakeholders received top honours, confirming the excellence of the country’s congress and business events offer:

The Meeting Star Awards are among the most respected accolades in the business events (MICE) industry. The winners are selected through a detailed and independent evaluation process that assesses a wide range of qualitative and technical criteria, from infrastructure and logistics to overall participant experience and destination sustainability. In addition to four first-place awards, Croatian businesses also secured three second-place and two third-place finishes across various categories, further underscoring the high quality and international competitiveness of Croatia’s MICE offering.

This year’s Conventa also presented several of the latest developments in the congress and hotel industry, further strengthening Croatia’s reputation as a leading MICE destination in the region. Among them is Valamar's Pical Hotel 5* in Poreč, whose new hotel and conference facilities are scheduled to open in 2026.
