• World Tourism Day is celebrated every year on 27 September. That’s the day when the peak tourist season in the northern hemisphere comes close to an end, preparing to migrate to the south. This year’s theme is – RETHINKING TOURISM. On SATURDAY, 1 OCTOBER, the Poreč Tourist Board will showcase a special programme for the town’s residents and guests.

Content 1:

• ‘Poreč MTB Tour’ / FREE OF CHARGE  

  For the adventurous souls who like to cycle, the Poreč Tourist Board, in cooperation with the Poreč Cycling Club, organises a free guided bike tour called ‘Poreč MTB Tour’. It’s a great opportunity for both residents and visitors of Poreč to get to know the beautiful surroundings of our town. Assembly point: Peškera Bay Registration: 9.00 – 9.20 am Start: 9.30 am Length of the route: 20 km Return: noon, Trg Slobode Square Duration: 2 – 2.5 h

  Notes: o  Reservations must be made via the online application form, which you’ll find on the following LINK . o Participation in the bike tour is voluntary and all registered participants ride at their own risk. o All participants of the bike tour are obliged to strictly observe the traffic rules, to ride exclusively on the right side of the road and to follow all instructions of the staff and organisers. o All persons under 16 years of age are required to wear a safety helmet during the entire bicycle tour. You will not be able to start or participate without a safety helmet. o Wearing a helmet is also recommended for all other bike tour participants. o Children between the ages of 9 and 13.99 may only participate if accompanied by a person over the age of 16. o Children under 9 years of age may only participate in the bike tour in the presence of their parents, while children under 6 years of age may not participate alone unless they are riding on a parent’s bike. o To participate, one must be able to ride a bike and have the basic fitness to cover about 20 km. o The guide has the right to change the route depending on the weather and the ability of the participants. o  In case of bad weather (rain), the bike tour will be cancelled. o The bike tour is not a competition.

• ‘Poreč – the town of sports & recreation’ / FREE OF CHARGE – group walk & stretching exercises  

  The Poreč Tourist Board, in cooperation with the Town of Poreč Sports Association and the ‘Healthy Town of Poreč’ Association, is hosting a free walk with stretching exercises on Saturday, 1 October, called ‘Poreč – the town of sports & recreation’.

  Start: at 10.00 am in front of the Poreč Municipal Court Tour guides: Zoran Jendrašić and Vedran Vrus Return: noon Duration: 2 h Notes: o  No need to book in advance. o  You can choose to walk with or without walking poles.  

  After returning to the finish line, the participants of the cycling and walking tours will meet at Trg Slobode Square to exercise and stretch together, which will be followed by a free brunch for all participants, as well as a music programme.

  Following the motto ‘Get to know Poreč’, the Tourist Board organises a free sightseeing tour of the town accompanied by a guide (available in Croatian and English). The aim is to teach residents and visitors more about Poreč through the fascinating stories narrated by professional guides.

  From 10.00 am to 5.00 pm, an original Istrian products fair will be held on Trg Slobode Square, hosted by the Online Farmers’ Market. Visitors will be welcomed by producers of honey, olive oil, brandy, fruit and vegetables, and invited to taste and purchase some of their local products.
