Honey Tasting and Educational Presentation
On Monday, 31 August 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Freedom Square (Trg slobode) will host a presentation of honey produced by Istrian and Croatian beekeepers, organized by the Nektar Poreč Beekeepers' Association. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste a variety of honey, meet local beekeepers, and learn more about honey quality and authenticity.
The programme will feature members of the Croatian Association of Honey Sensory Analysts (HUSAM), who will demonstrate how to recognize high-quality honey and distinguish it from counterfeit products. A special guest of the event will be Prof. Dr. Dražen Lušić, President of the International Honey Commission.
The exhibition will be divided into three themed sections: honey from inland Istria, honey from Croatia's coastal regions, and examples of counterfeit honey available on the market. The event will take place during the local farmers' market at Freedom Square, allowing visitors to purchase products directly from local producers.
