Motovun, the recognisable guardian of the Istrian hills, stands safely within its historical walls.

The walls of Motovun are the most preserved fortification system in Istria, and today form part of a unique promenade with stunning views over the green landscapes and the tranquil river Mirna, which runs beneath the town.

However, Motovun is not just about its walls, here you will come across narrow ascents and a fair number of steps, majestic churches, the town loggia and monumental towers, one of which was well shaken by the giant, Veli Jože. It is an unusual little town that will enchant anyone who walks along its cobbled stones.

In order to preserve its heritage and to offer its visitors a closer view of the sights, whilst at the same time thanks to careful attention, restoration and conservation, preventing its deterioration and destruction, we invite you on a paid tour of this medieval town called Motovun Impressions. And do not worry, the doors of Motovun are always wide open to everyone and through the Motovun Impressions tour, you will help this ancient town keep it that way...

Tickets include: sightseeing along Motovun’s walls with photo points and two sets of binoculars, a visit to St. Stephen’s church, the ‘Five towers’ art gallery, the town loggia and the medieval tower known as the ‘New door’.

All proceeds raised by the project are intended to preserve the heritage of Motovun and to enrich the offer with new contents making every successive visit a different experience.
