MICHELIN Guide 2026: Harry's Piccolo Poreč Becomes Istria’s Newest Star
Istria Continues to Reinforce Its Status as Croatia’s Leading Gourmet Destination - Four Istrian Restaurants Now Hold Prestigious Michelin Stars
The latest selection of the MICHELIN Guide 2026 has brought another major accolade to Istrian gastronomy. Harry's Piccolo Poreč has been awarded its first Michelin star, joining the ranks of Croatia’s finest restaurants. This latest recognition further reinforces Istria’s position as one of the Mediterranean’s leading gastronomic destinations. The region is now home to four Michelin-starred restaurants, including one distinguished with two Michelin stars.
Agli Amici Rovinj has once again confirmed its status among Croatia’s culinary elite by retaining its two Michelin stars, remaining the country’s highest-awarded Michelin-starred restaurant.
Michelin stars have also been retained by Monte, the first Croatian restaurant ever to receive this prestigious distinction, and Cap Aureo, further strengthening Rovinj’s reputation as one of the Mediterranean’s foremost gourmet destinations.
With the addition of a new Michelin star in Poreč, Istria now boasts four Michelin-starred restaurants, a testament to the region’s continued investment in culinary excellence, the talent and creativity of its chefs, and the exceptional quality of its local ingredients and wine-and-food culture for which it is internationally renowned.
This year, two Istrian establishments also received new recommendations from the Michelin Guide: JAZ by Ana Roš in Poreč and Riva Lounge in Rovinj.
Istrian restaurants also maintained their distinctions across other Michelin categories. The Bib Gourmand designation, awarded to restaurants offering exceptional quality at a reasonable price, was once again retained by Alla Beccaccia in Valbandon and Konoba Malo Selo in Buje.
The Michelin Selected Restaurants list continues to feature a number of outstanding Istrian establishments that consistently uphold high standards of quality and hospitality: Badi and Konoba Buščina in Umag; Damir & Ornella and Marina in Novigrad; Luciano in Buje; Morgan and San Rocco in Brtonigla; Spinnaker in Poreč; Tekka by Lone in Rovinj; Meneghetti in Bale; Ribarska Koliba in Pula; and Batelina in Banjole. Istria also received special recognition for service excellence this year, with the MICHELIN Service Award presented to Monte in Rovinj, further highlighting the exceptional dining experience the restaurant provides its guests.
