Perched at the very tip of the Istrian peninsula, Monte Rosso - meaning "Red Peak" - is an impressive estate developed by Slovenian investors, friends and business partners Davor Dubokovič and Uroš Gorjanc. United by a shared passion for olive oil and wine, they began bringing the project to life in 2006.
From the outset, their vision was to produce premium-quality, wholesome products while offering visitors an unforgettable estate experience. Once productive farmland, the area gradually became overgrown and neglected due to changing geopolitical circumstances. Today, the estate spans 65 hectares and is home to 14,000 olive trees, 50,000 vines and a variety of other Mediterranean crops. Its exceptional microclimate is shaped by the nearby sea and constant sea breezes, while the landscape is defined by three distinct soil types: limestone, white soil and the characteristic Istrian red soil.
The vineyards are planted with just two grape varieties, Malvazija istarska and Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, from which the estate produces five wine labels: two sparkling wines and three still wines. For its winemaking partner, Monte Rosso chose renowned Italian winemaker Edi Kante from the Karst region near Trieste. The estate also features an elegant tasting room where visitors can sample the full range of wines and olive oils, while several scenic locations across the property are available to hire for private events and special occasions.
