On Thursday, 16 June 2011, the 15th Jubilee Edition of the Istra Gourmet was promoted at the restaurant Wine Vault of the Monte Mulini hotel in Rovinj. It is a multifunctional annual guide that combines restaurants, taverns, wine makers and olive growers, with special emphasis on Istrian ox Boškarin and Istrian truffles.

A novelty in this year's issue is that for the first time the best restaurants and taverns are marked with a visual quality mark IQ (whereas during previous years they were marked with a visual quality mark „TOP"), with a goal of putting further emphasis on a „product" of an exceptional quality that best represents Istria. Restaurants awarded with IQ mark are: Blu, Čok, Damir&Ornella, Gourmet Restoran San Rocco, Milan, Monte, Morgan, Pepenero, Puntulina, Sv. Nikola, Valsabbion, Villa, Annette, Wine Vault - Monte Mulini i Zigante, and taverns awarded are: Alla Beccaccia, Astarea, Baltelina, Buščina and Toklarija.

Otherwise, in 1996 the first edition of the guide Gourmet Istria had only 35 restaurants and 15 taverns, while today the guide includes around 150 restaurants, 40 taverns and a few tasting rooms for prosciutto, cheese and olive oil. The evaluation criteria (food, selection of beverage, ambience and service are being evaluated) that had been chosen since the beginning have not been changed and all the facilities awarded with more than 80 points are included in the guide, while the maximum amount of points is 100.

A guide Le guide de L'espresso - I Ristoranti d'Italia 2011 of the publishing house L'Espresso was also presented at the promotional event. Annually the guide is issued in 170.000 copies and this year it included Istria as the only international region. Editor of the guide is Enzo Vizzari, one of the world renowned gourmet opinion makers. The following eight restaurants were included in the guide L'Espresso: Blu, Čok, Damir & Ornella, Monte, Pepenero, San Rocco, Valsabbion and Zigante.

Additionally, prizes were awarded by a respectable Austrian issue of Gault Millau which included the following 18 Istrian restaurants: Golf, Villa Annette, Villa Rosetta, Vinoteca San Rocco, Restaurant San Rocco, Monte, Damir &Ornella, Pepenero, Milan, Valsabbion, Sv. Nikola, Batelina, Morgan, Čok, Zigante, Mare&Monti, Alla Beccaccia and Monte Mulini.

President and director of the Istria Tourist Board, Ivan Jakovčić and Denis Ivošević, author of the Istra Gourmet project, Franko Lukež, director of the Istrian Development Agency, Darko Lorencin, as well as Dr. Wolfgang Neuhuber who presented the guide Gault Millau, all addressed the large number of awarded catering facilities and media representatives.
