Flos Olei 2021: Istra Is the Best in the World
The prestigious Flos Olei 2021 has included in the newest edition 71 Istria olive oil producers whose extra virgin olive earned this valuable accomplishment.
In 2021 Istria is again, for 6th year in a row, the best olive oil region in the world for the extra virgin olive oils. This news is of great importance since the olive oils from all over the world are included in the publication, i.e. from 54 olive oil regions, and Istrian olive producers make 14% of the total number of 500 best world olive oil producers.
In the new edition of the so called „Bible“ for extra virgin olive oils 73 oils are from Croatia from which 71 are from Istria, and 2 are from Dalmatia. A significant number of the Istrian olive oil producers gained better results than previous year, which is a proof of the constant quality upgrade and applying the newest science-technological trends in olive oil production.
We congratulate all Istrian olive oil producers who thanks to their work and dedication contribute to the promotion of Istria as a world gastronomical destination, and particularly Mate, Ipša and Olea BB whose oils scored 98 points, for the second time in a row.
