Moražola

Origin
A local Istrian variety, cultivated mostly in southern Istria.

Agro biological properties
Medium size plant, with expanse foliage and a straight, erect trunk. Fruit bearing branches are short. Leaves are small and olive green. Olives are small and rounded, and if will fall from the tree if not harvested at the proper time. Suitable for cultivation in protected places, and moderately resistant to lower temperatures.

Fruit bearing
Good, regular, and early.

Fertilization
With olive groves of this single species bearing fruit regularly and continuously, it is assumed to have heterogamous fertilization (bearing two different types of flowers).

Resistance to adversities
Minimally resistant to sooty mould.

Quality of the oil
High oil yield.
